The Broker Owner of the Year Award acknowledges those Broker Owners who have excelled in the operation of their RE/MAX offices by providing unparalleled value to their associates.  Through their dedication their RE/MAX offices stand out, not only in market share and programs but in the service they provide to their Sales Associates.

John Lichtenwald started in real estate sales in 1988, joining RE/MAX in 1990.  By 1993 this talented individual was appointed the Marketing Director for RE/MAX Western Canada where he was responsible for franchise sales in the Western Region.  He is now Principal Owner of Seven RE/MAX Offices with over 470 Sales associates.

Outside of his RE/MAX offices John has participated in 3 rescues between 2006 and 2008 and has received the Governor-General's Award for bravery when he saved an individual from a burning home.  John has a long list of honourable awards which include: The Calgary Fire Department's Highest Civilian Award, The Certificate of Commendation, and a bronze medal from the Royal Canadian Humane Society.

John was selected from over 244 offices in Western Canada, which spans 4 provinces and 2 territories.
